Hey there D-back fans, with the start of April it only means one thing, BASEBALL IS BACK!!! As the D-backs opened on the 2011 season on road vs. the Rockies in Denver, it gave me a chance to do a cool appearance here at Chase Field. On Saturday April 2, the Team Grizz Kidney walk took place where over 1000 walkers came to walk to raise money for Kidney research. Little did I know that Team Grizz was for Grizz Chapman, from the hit TV Show 30 Rock. Check out this cool Twit-pic of the two of us that was posted on his twitter feed after the event and yes, he now follows your favorite bobcat on Twitter now.
Friday April 7, 2011 D-backs Opening Day at Chase Field. Every year Opening Day begins real early for me as many of the local TV stations broadcast their morning shows here from the ballpark to celebrate the day. I was featured on Channels 3, 5, and 15 all morning long, my mom was so proud of me.
Check out this great picture of Yetta Gibson and Tara Hitchcock from Channel 3, how lucky am I?
Then when the game finally got started during the 7th inning right after "Take Me Out to The Ballgame" the pilots from Luke Air Force Base that flew the F-16s during the National Anthem pre-game.
The D-backs beat the Reds on Opening Day 13-2 with a crowd of 48,027 in attendance. For a few lucky fans that follow me on Twitter, I did a special contest. I tweeted out if anyone was coming to Opening Day to tweet me their seat location and they might get a special surprise visit at some point. Little did they know that I would be coming by with some very special autographed photos for them in thanks for being a loyal twitter follower and D-backs fan! You too can follow me on twitter, @DbacksBaxter.
Next time you come down to Chase Field, don't forget to check out my new Den as it has moved from center field, to the upper concourse at the Sandlot. Every home game during the 4th inning I hang out at my den to sign autographs with D-back fans of all ages.
