D. Baxter the Bobcat

School & Community Shows
Bobby & Baxter Show Paw

The Bobby & Baxter Show, presented by APS, Subway, and St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, is the signature show of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The show promotes healthy lifestyles and features Baxter along with his best friend, D-backs organist Bobby Freeman. Bobby and Baxter entertain and educate elementary school students on important messages like avoiding bullying, making friends, staying away from drugs, having good attitudes and going green! Bobby and Baxter perform their show for 3rd and 4th graders all over the Valley of the Sun.

Mac-Ro Math Show Paw

In partnership with the Rodel Foundation of Arizona, Baxter and Organist Bobby Freeman perform a special show for the schools that record highest participation in Rodel's Mac-Ro Math program. The Mac-Ro Show is a fun and interactive show that gets kids excited about learning math.

Read Your Way to the Ballpark Paw

Read Your Way to the Ballpark is a summer reading program performed at public libraries all over Maricopa County. Kids who visit their local libraries get a colorful game board to track reading progress, and can advance spaces based on time spent reading, or pages or books read. Young readers can win prizes and if you make it to the finish line you can receive a free ticket to an Arizona Diamondbacks game!

To encourage reading and participation, Baxter and Bobby Freeman visit these libraries where Bobby reads and Baxter acts out their favorite story, and they play music and fun games with the kids.

No Chew Crew Sunday Sluggers Paw

On the last Sunday home game of every month, the Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center present the No Chew Crew Sunday Slugger's Show. The show begins at approximately 11:45 a.m. and takes place in the St. Joe's Sandlot on the upper concourse at Chase Field. The Sunday Sluggers show features Baxter, Bobby Freeman, Mike and Vanessa, and even a surprise appearance by a D-backs player, and educates kids and their families about the dangers of chewing tobacco.
