Amiel Sawdaye
Senior Vice President & Assistant General Manager

Amiel SawdayeAmiel Sawdaye enters his first season as Senior Vice President & Assistant General Manager of the D-backs. In his role, Sawdaye oversees the team's amateur and international scouting and assists GM Mike Hazen on all facets of baseball operations.

Sawdaye joined the D-backs on Oct. 25, 2016 following 15 seasons with the Boston Red Sox, where he was a part of 3 World Championship teams in 2004, 2007 and 2013. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Amateur and International Scouting and during a 6-year span overseeing the club's scouting efforts, the Red Sox drafts produced prospects and current big leaguers Matt Barnes, Mookie Betts, Henry Owens, Travis Shaw, Blake Swihart and Brandon Workman.

His other roles with the Red Sox include Assistant Director, Amateur Scouting (2005-2009), Scouting Assistant (2004) and Baseball Operations Intern (2002-03).

The Baltimore native graduated from the University of Maryland in 1999 with a degree in decisions information systems.

Sawdaye is active with the Williams Syndrome Association. He and his wife, Danielle, reside in Phoenix with their 2 daughters, Lily and Mia, and son, Max.
