Salt River Fields at Talking Stick will be the new Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies beginning in 2011. Located just west of the Loop 101 freeway and north of Indian Bend Road on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Salt River Fields will be the first Major League Spring Training facility built on Indian land. The complex is being constructed on a 140-acre site that will house an 11,000-seat ballpark and 12 practice fields, as well as Major and Minor League clubhouses, training facilities and offices for each team.
The new ballpark offers a mix of seating options, including 7,000 fixed seats and 4,000 general admission lawn seats located beyond the outfield fences. The ballpark layout has been designed with built-in shade to give fans the most pleasant Spring Training experience that can be found throughout the Cactus League.
