Be part of the hit TV show Glee

A walk-on role in the hit TV show Glee, including filming in California, a Meet and Greet with co-creator/executive producer Brad Falchuk and autographs from the cast! This does not include airfare or hotel accommodations in Los Angeles. Date to be determined upon the availability of production schedule for the 2011-2012 season.

NEW ITEM! Red Sox Reporter for a Day

Have the unique opportunity to spend a few hours with NESN Red Sox reporter Heidi Watney as she prepares to cover a Red Sox home game. Auction winner will shadow Heidi as she goes through her pre-game responsibilities, including sitting with her as she covers Terry Francona's daily press briefing; attending the NESN production meeting where he/she will meet Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy; tagging along for any pre-game player interviews; and watching as Heidi does her live news hits for the pre-game show. The will be no clubhouse access for the winner. The prize package also includes four infield grandstand tickets to the game. Date of the "Reporter for a Day" package will be a mutually agreed upon regular-season home game, excluding Yankees games. (Ages 8+)

Childhood dreams come true for your child when he or she receives a 30 minute personal batting lesson from Red Sox Outfielder Darnell McDonald. The hitting lesson will take place prior to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. This auction item is for one child who must be between 7 years and 18 years old and includes one autograph and a picture with Darnell. Four (4) people can watch the lesson and date will be determined by Mr. McDonald's availability. On a separate date as determined by Fenway Park groundskeeper, two (2) youngsters between the ages of 8-12 years old only will live the dream of being a part of the grounds crew to help install the bases before a game at Fenway!

HOW TO BID FOR THE ONLINE AUCTION

OFFICIAL RULES FOR "Be part of the hit TV show Glee" AUCTION ONLY: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Red Sox Foundation, which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the Auction.

Online Auction Close Date/Time for the GLEE ITEM ONLY as listed: The ONLINE PORTION FOR BIDDING ON THE GLEE ITEM ENDS NOON (EST) on Saturday, July 23rd. At that time, the top three valid ONLINE bidders for the GLEE Walk On Role will be contacted by the Red Sox Foundation via email and if possible, by phone and offered an opportunity to participate in the final LIVE portion of the auction at Picnic in the Park on Sunday, July 24. The LIVE portion of the auction will take place during the Picnic at the Park at Fenway Park between approximately 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Before the Glee item comes up for bid, the Red Sox Foundation will attempt to call the three top online finalists so each of the 3 top bidders has the option to place proxy bids through a Red Sox Foundation staff member via phone as part of the live auction. The highest valid bidder during the live auction portion -- whether the highest bid was placed online or live at the Picnic or via phone by an eligible online bidder -- will be declared the winner. The winner of each auction item will not be declared until the live auction is complete and payment is processed. There is only one GLEE Walk On auction item being offered. The Red Sox Foundation will make its best efforts to reach the top 3 bidders but is not responsible if the Foundation cannot reach bidders before the live portion of the auction begins. As with all auction item in the Red Sox Foundation auction, online bidders for the GLEE Walk On role are responsible for checking their email and voicemail messages and making arrangements with the Red Sox Foundation to participate in the LIVE portion of the auction if they are eligible and offered the opportunity to do so.

OFFICIAL RULES FOR ALL OTHER AUCTIONS: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Red Sox Foundation, which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the Auction.

Online Auction Close Date/Time for the auction items listed above: At NOON (EST) on Friday, July 22 at NOON -- EXCEPT the "Be part of the hit TV show Glee" item, which closes at NOON on Saturday, July 23 -- we will close the online portion of the auction. At that time, the top three ONLINE bidders for each item will be contacted by phone and email by the Red Sox Foundation and offered an opportunity to participate in the final LIVE portion of the auction on Sunday, July 24. Online bidders are responsible for checking their email and voicemail messages and making arrangements to participate in the LIVE portion of the auction if they are eligible and offered the opportunity to do so.

The LIVE portion of the auction will take place during the Picnic at the Park at Fenway Park between approximately 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. As each item comes up for live bidding, the Red Sox Foundation will call the three top online finalists for each item and allow them to bid via phone as part of the live auction.

There is only one item offered for each of the prizes listed. The highest valid bidder during the live auction portion -- whether the highest bid was placed online or live at the Picnic or via phone by an eligible online bidder -- will be declared the winner. The winner of each auction item will not be declared until the live auction is complete and payment is processed.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE LIVE ROUND OF THE AUCTION, AN ONLINE BIDDER MUST BE ONE OF THE TOP 3 ONLINE BIDDERS. If an item fails to raise the minimum reserve required to win the item, no sale will take place and the Red Sox Foundation will auction the item at another date.

Eligible winners are responsible for any taxes due and all shipping costs required.

Auction items may be subject to additional restrictions on redemption, including but not limited to age of persons who may redeem a Red Sox player experience, dates of redemption pending players' availability, or the availability of facilities required or game tickets. Additional restrictions will be posted on-line and in paper copy at the live auction.

The Red Sox Foundation decision of which bid is the winner will be final. Credit Cards will be charged immediately following the auction of each item. and bidders declare through process of bidding that their bid is legitimate and will be paid in full by the bidder on Sunday July 24 between 6 and 8:30 p.m. Payment must be made in full before winner is declared. If the highest bid is not paid within 24 hours, the Red Sox Foundation has the right, at its sole discretion to declare the next highest bidder as the winner of the item. Credit card charges issued to eligible winners are final and non-refundable.

The Red Sox Foundation and its affiliates, officers and employees shall not be responsible or liable for any bids or payments that are missed, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, not fully captured, or garbled as a result of any failure or problem whatsoever with the availability, functionality, operability or use of any network, server, ISP, website, Internet connection, computer, telephone, cable or satellite modem or connection, hand held mobile device or any other computer equipment or connection, regardless of the cause of such problem, including any failure to connect by telephone for the live auction.

ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER: Bidders in each stage of the auction MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER or else have the permission of a parent or guardian to place a bid. Bids may NOT be placed by anyone under the age of 18, regardless of location or method of bidding, and any bid determined to be placed by a person under age 18 without the permission of a parent or guardian shall be declared invalid.

You can purchase tickets to 2011 Picnic in the Park on Sunday July 24 at redsox.com/picnic and place your live bid on any of these items and more that will be added at the Picnic. But if you cannot attend the 2011 Picnic in the Park, you can still make a Bid by Proxy on Any of these terrific items donated by Red Sox Players to benefit the Red Sox Foundation's Red Sox Scholars and RBI youth baseball programs.

RULES TO BID BY PROXY: Please submit an e-mail to picnic@redsox.com with your HIGHEST bid with your NAME, BILLING ADDRESS AND CELL PHONE WHERE WE CAN REACH YOU BEFORE Friday, July 22 at Noon. We will contact you to confirm your bid and to collect your valid credit card information at that time, so we can bid by proxy for you prior to the auction on Sunday, July 24. FOR YOUR OWN SECURITY, PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO VIA E-MAIL.

If you wish to be notified by phone of the highest bid placed during the auction so you can consider raising your bid, please be sure to include a CELL PHONE NUMBER WHERE YOU CAN BE REACHED BETWEEN 6 and 8 PM ON SUNDAY JULY 24. If we cannot get through to you, the highest bidder for each item - whether the bid is live or by Proxy - at the time it's offered for live auction will be the winner.

ALL PROXY BIDS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING to picnic@redsox.com before Friday, July 22 at NOON - though you can request option to raise your bid by phone if we can reach you on Sunday, July 24 during the auction. If at the time the item is auctioned, you are the highest bidder, we will charge your card immediately and notify you via cell and email that you have won.
