There is no pre-requisite for baseball/softball experience, talent or physical prowess. The camp is meant to be fun, and we will have campers of all ages and abilities. We only require that you enjoy the game of baseball and the Red Sox!
Fantasy Camp is great to attend with a family member/friend or solo! We expect to have friends coming down together, sisters, co-workers, etc. If you do happen to come alone, there are many opportunities to meet and socialize with other campers, and hopefully develop friendships will last beyond Fantasy Camp.
Transportation is provided to/from the Airport and the Hotel, as well as the Hotel and the ballpark each day. It is not necessary to rent a car and is entirely up to you if you decide to do so.
We provide a full authentic home Red Sox uniform and an additional Batting Practice jersey. We also provide all bats, helmets, catchers gear and other general baseball equipment. Each camper should bring their own glove, cleats and any accessories they may want for the week (sunglasses, batting gloves, etc).
Yes. We have both professional photographers on site week to capture everything. Photos will be available for purchase both at the camp and afterward.
Yes. Friends, family and fans alike are allowed to attend all games free of charge. If you wish to have your family member or friend attend the functions, these are available at an additional charge and can be purchased on an individual basis or through a spectator package which includes access to all events, as well as other special amenities.
All campers are invited to take part in a reunion game at Fenway Park during the 2017 season. This is an additional charge, but includes a ticket to a Red Sox game, and the opportunity to play a game at Fenway Park the following day. See the Fenway Reunion tab for more detail on this exclusive opportunity.
We recommend that ever camper try to be in the best shape possible to ensure their Fantasy Camp experience is enjoyed to its fullest. That said, we realize that nobody attending is a professional athlete, so Olympic training ahead of time is in no way required. We also have the Red Sox professional training staff on site to help with any injuries or sore muscles that may result from a week at camp.
Women must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate.
*This is a list of pros who attended the camp in 2016. Likely, there may be additional pros in attendance and this list will be updated periodically. Unforeseen changes in schedules or other circumstances may also keep some of these pros from returning in 2018.
"It's a once in a lifetime experience that a person could have every year, if one wants. Also, the Red Sox provide a great experience and the women that attend as players or as spectators/fans, share their love and passion for the Red Sox and baseball to make the time so rich, joyful, fun, meaningful, and encouraging to all through victory and defeat."

"Fantasy camp is just amazing. As a veteran, it was great to come back and see familiar faces, meet the rookies and interact with the coaches and staff. Being able to play like a Major League Baseball players for 4 days is unbelievable! The lifelong friendships that are formed through camp is something that I cherish and now look forward to every January. This camp is a must for any woman baseball fan! :)"

"I am a die-hard lifelong Red Sox Fan who grew up in a household of that other north east (unspoken) team's fans. When I learned about the Women's Red Sox Fantasy Camp, I signed up without hesitation. As a rookie camper, it was the most awe-inspiring experience of my life! I felt like I was a little kid all over again playing on that "field of dreams". My expectations of the camp were quickly surpassed as soon as I arrived in Ft Myers. The entire process was top-notch. The staff, the Pros and all the other campers were terrific and right there without hesitation offering help, guidance and friendship both on and off the field. Meeting the former pro players and coaches and getting tips and compliments from them was simply amazing. I've always wondered how certain logistical things were handled at the pro level...now I have 'a little' insight. I also have a much higher respect for pro players and the game's toll it takes on their physical condition. The RSFC offers sportsmanship, fellowship and fun. I truly felt I was living a fantasy."
- Carolyn Dalton
"The camp was one of the best organized events in which I have ever participated. The Red Sox staff was absolutely spectacular! You all thought of every single detail and then some.
Sometimes you spend a lot for a special vacation or event and are disappointed. This was the exact opposite. It exceeded every expectation. I did not have a negative interaction with anyone at any time everyone was positive, happy, helpful and just wonderful to work with. Thank you all so much!"
- Janet Mitchell
"Words cannot describe the amazing experience I had this year at the Red Sox Women's Fantasy camp. It truly was a dream come true, from the moment I walked into the locker room and saw my name on the jersey to the moment I walked through the dugout and stepped on the field. The camaraderie among the women started even before we got to camp. It was a loving, nurturing environment for all skill levels. Although we were on 4 different teams, we all came together as one to support each other and cheer each other on. I was able to live out one of my life long dreams, and it is an experience that you cannot put a price on. Even weeks later, thinking about camp lights up my face and makes me feel like I'm floating on cloud 9. Thank you, Red Sox staff, for making my fantasy come true."
- Erin Pappas
"I didn't think people loved baseball as much as me but Fantasy Camp proved me wrong! It will definitely be something I take part in every year. There were a ton of surprises and it was great getting to know all of the coaches on a personal level. I would highly recommend attending to anyone who wants to experience what ball players go through on a daily basis. I'm looking forward to next yeargo Sox!"
- Courtney Simchick
"It gives us women who have a love for the game a chance to feel like a pro. It's been the best experience I've ever had."
- S'emira Abdallah
"This camp is a MUST for a lifetime, passionate, baseball loving woman! The little, 8 year old tomboy girl, who dreamed of being a baseball player came true at camp! Definitely the greatest time of my life! The Red Sox players and staff made you feel like you were part of the team, the best team in baseball! Don't have regrets, sign up!!!"
- Laura Lara
"If you ever dreamed to play like a pro for the Red Sox, here is your chance! To get your own locker, with your own uniform, your name on the locker, and to play on the field where the Red Sox play is absolutely amazing! To play with all women who have the same passion for the Sox as you do, is priceless. To be coached by former pros such as Rico Petrocelli, Alan Embree, Trot Nixon, Brian Daubach, Butch Hobson, Rich Gedman as well as, meet women who are or were in baseball is an experience you will never forget. Shirley Burkovitch and Maybelle Blair from The AAGPBL were so fascinating. Marti Sementelli, the pitcher form Team USA is living my dream currently. Justine Siegal who is now coaching in the A's organization is an inspiration. Plus to hear Joe Castiglione say my name over the loudspeaker is incredible. The bonding that goes on at fantasy camp is a lifelong connection. All I can say is, 'Wow!'"
- Tobi Whitney
"What an unbelievable experience! This camp exceeded all of my expectations, from the first moment we saw our lockers. I had previously attended a men's fantasy camp which was a blast, but the all-women's camp had a totally different feel. Such a treat to be with other women who share my passion. It was all about the baseball and it felt amazing to be treated as a big league player. Excellent level of competition, fantastic camaraderie! I know I have made some lifelong friends. Couldn't ask for a better bunch of pros - so much fun to be around all of them! And I learned so much! Still cannot believe I got to play for Trot Nixon!! Wish I was still there. How many days til the next camp??"
- Robin Gross
"This was a dream come true. It was an awesome experience and exceeded all expectations. The pros were terrific and I made new friends. Thank you for this opportunity, can't wait to come back."
- Jean Angell
"Red Sox Women's Fantasy Baseball Camp was an amazing experience! It completely exceeded my expectations. Walking into the locker room and seeing an authentic Red Sox uniform with my name on it was unbelievable! I got chills. I was blessed to be drafted by Trot Nixon and Brian Daubach. When I got the paperwork, they were the team I wanted to play for because they were the players I grew up idolizing. Where else do you get to play for your idols?? I couldn't ask for two better coaches to play for! The women I met were an incredible group of individuals! It was great knowing that I wasn't the only one who hadn't picked up a bat and ball in a while. The lifelong friendships that were formed from this experience are something that I will cherish! Thank you Boston Red Sox for providing the ladies a camp where we can shine on the diamond!"
- Amanda Goyer
"While it sounds a bit hackneyed to call this experience the trip of a lifetime, it really was the Trip of a Lifetime. As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I was excited about the opportunity to see JetBlue up close, to play on the stadium field, and to interact with former Red Sox players. But the experience itself exceeded even my highest expectations. I shared an instant camaraderie with each of the women I met, thanks to our shared passion for sports. And while my fellow campers were competitive and clearly wanted to play their best and to win, they were also incredibly supportive of each other, which made for an incredible playing experience.
It was a real bonus having the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League legends Maybelle and Shirley there, as well additional women in baseball like Justine and Marti. This added a lot of depth to the experience it wasn't just about playing baseball with the pros, it was about playing baseball as women with the pros.
Again, this camp was the best experience of my life. From seeing the signs welcoming us as Fantasy Camp players, to meeting legends that I remember my dad talking about when I was a kid (Rico and Butch), to meeting the players I saw bring my team a championship (Trot, Brian, Alan), to getting to know actual trail-blazers for women in baseball (Maybelle, Shirley, Justine, Marti), to making friends that I expect I will keep for the rest of my life, to feeling like a pro running onto the field, to getting showered with champagne after winning the championship, to cheering on my new friends and teammates as they were awarded (much deserved!) awards and trophies, I can genuinely say that it was pretty much perfect from start to finish."
- Karyn Doerfler
