Kid Nation: Warming Up Winter

On Sunday, November 7, 100 Kid Nation members and parents came out to the Cradles to Crayons Warehouse to organize clothing, books and toys for children in need. The Kid Nation Captains truly rose to the occasion, serving as Assistant Coaches at stations throughout the Warehouse. The Captains hosted clothing donation drives during October, bringing more than 2,000 new or gently used items with them to the event.

Here's a summary of what the participants accomplished on Sunday:

214 individualized packages for children were hand selected and filled with great care
114 winter clothes pre-packs were assembled with over 500 matched outfits, socks and underwear
190 children will be served with the clothes that were sorted, inspected and sized in the clothes processing area
310 children will benefit from the toys that were cleaned, inspected and prepackaged
272 books were cleaned, sorted and pre-packed for local children
350 children will be served by the items collected during Captains' donation drives
