"My wife and I really enjoyed the Cubs Destinations experience. We have been traveling to visitors' ballparks with the Cubs for 15 years, having visited 14 different cities, and we both commented on how much better our previous trips would have been had there been a Cubs Destinations option in the past.
"In the past, we would spend hours and days researching what hotel was close to the ballpark, what restaurants were available, what to do in the city we were visiting, and how to navigate the city to see what we wanted. You took all the work out of the trip and left us to enjoy ourselves. The process was very easy, and you supplied us with a lot of information that helped us greatly in enjoying both the Cubs/Red Sox Series and the City of Boston.
"Everyone involved was very friendly and helpful, and it really is nice to visit an opponent's ballpark and be able to sit with a bunch of Cubs fans. The access to Fenway was unbelievable. Actually getting the chance to go walk on the field and step inside the Green Monster was an experience I will always remember.
"Please accept my sincere gratitude for a wonderful experience. Ann and I are already looking forward to the next trip."
"My family and I have been traveling to take in one or two Cubs road series for years, this is the first time we have tried Cubs Destinations. My wife and I really enjoyed it! The extras like the stadium tour and brunch with a Cub were big plusses. You took the hassle out of the event. We will be back."
"First off, what a great experience it was for me and my son. The weekend with the Cubs vs. the Yankees was a great present for my sons high school graduation and it fell on his 18th birthday also. The staff was great and very knowledgeable about Cub history and very helpful and courteous throughout the experience. Having access to the field, the dugout and the famous Wrigley Field ivy was an experience we will remember for years to come.
"The lodging included along with the Cubs destinations was top notch. Having never been to Chicago before we couldn't as for more than to be in the heart of Chicago on the Miracle mile. Thank you for having these experiences available to Cub, as well as Yankee fans (which we are). The lunch buffet was in the United club was a great touch of class. Having Shawn Marshall attending and taking the time to sign autographs was a great up close experience for all. I hope Shawn gets to hear all the positive feedback that I'm sure he will receive. He was very polite and very helpful to all the young kids in the crowd. He has a new fan for sure.
"Once again what a great experience we had throughout the weekend. Well done!"
"All I can say about the trip was HOLY COW!
"What a great experience for myself and my Dad to experience the weekend of Father's Day in Wrigley.
"As a long time Cub fan, I highly recommend Cubs Destinations for your trip to one of the greatest ballparks and baseball franchises of all time.
"The Cubs Destinations team hit it out the ball park with the communication once the trip was booked, to the follow up emails as the trip got closer.
"From the detailed information package we received with our tickets and VIP passes, to the maps and directions around downtown Chicago that were included, to the first-class hotel accommodations, Cubs gift bag waiting for us at the hotel, to the amazing tickets to the game...3rd baseline in the 200 Section. It was all great. Saturday's tour of Wrigley from the Press Box, to the Dugout and then being able to walk in the outfield and touch the Ivy, words can't describe how great this experience was. Also a big thanks to Cubs Pitcher Sean Marshall for being our guest at our luncheon at Wrigley. I didn't think the trip could get any better until we got to sit in the front row and watch the Cubs take batting practice before any other fans were let in the park. It was just an awesome experience and it's one my Dad and I will never forget."
"There are no words that can describe what an unbelievable weekend it was. The hospitality by the Cubs Destination people was great! They could not do enough for us and were just great. Boston fans were also just as nice and hospitable! I cannot wait to sign up again next year for a trip. Who cares where! It will be great thanks to you! I cannot forget to mention how awesome it was to meet Sean Marshall. He is a regular guy who has gotten the opportunity at his dream job. Just the few minutes talking to him he could be your next door neighbor who you share a beer with on Sunday afternoon.
"Again...Cubs Destination people...YOU WERE FANTASTIC!!! Thank you again for all you did for us. It is a memory my friends and I will cherish forever."
"Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend in Boston! We attended the Cubs/Red Sox matchup at Wrigley in 2005, and have been waiting anxiously for when the Cubs would finally again visit Fenway Park. This was a historic weekend in many ways, and one to which we've been looking forward ever since purchasing the destination tickets. The tour of Fenway was loads of fun - unfortunately our tour guide had no voice (from having screamed so much at the game the night before), so I'm sure there are many details about the park that we missed. But we did get to see many parts of the park that we would not have seen if we'd purchased only game tickets (walking up on the Green Monster and inside the scoreboard). The VIP reception was a nice rest before the game, and Darwin Barney was patient with the entire group, personalizing our items and talking to each person individually.
"All around Boston we saw people wearing Cubs' jerseys, and there was of course good-natured ribbing with the locals. Then we won on Saturday night, so none of us had any voices the next day, either! Thanks to Cubs Destinations for arranging such a memorable weekend for everyone - and for the disc of pictures sent to us right after we got back home!"
"Thanks so much for a great weekend - Micah and I enjoyed very much - looking forward to a new location next year - only suggestion I have is that as you continue to pick locations that you look for new cities and ball parks - for repeat customers this provides opportunities to see different ball parks - I am hoping that this will become a tradition for my son and I and before it is over maybe we will get to all the parks - thanks again for everything."
"The Cubs Destination Trip to Boston was my first of a trip of this kind. I would do another in a heartbeat. It was well organized, and such a treat to have the reception, and having Darwin Barney there to sign and have photo ops. The tour of Fenway was great fun, and because us Cubs fans sat together we began to recognize people around town. Having the seats at the ballpark in different rows allowed us to meet new Cubs fans. The goodies in the welcome bag were fun. Love the shirt, it washes so well and is comfortable. If you have a chance I highly recommend Cubs Destinations. The staff is warm and friendly and so helpful in whatever needs arise."
"We had such a wonderful time at the Cubs/BoSox destination vacation to Fenway Park in Boston. The tour of Fenway was great, the lunch was delicious and the meet and greet with Sean Marshall was especially nice. You did a wonderful job organizing this destination trip. From the very beginning, it was a pleasure to work with you. We were on a wait list, with little hope of ever getting to the games. Everything turned out better than we expected. Boston is an amazing town and the whole experience was made better by the Cubs win on Saturday night. Sunday, not so much.... We look forward to doing a destination game in the future."
"A visit to Fenway has been on my must do list for many years - the courtesy and professionalism shown by the staff of Cubs Destinations made this the perfect way to experience it for the first time. We couldn't believe the access we were allowed on the field, especially getting to go inside the green monster. Our tour guide George had the best stories and answered every question anyone posed with cheerful anecdotes and obvious familiarity of the ballpark as well as the team. Bringing out the World Series trophies and rings was certainly not expected but became one of the highlights of the trip. Thank you for providing an incredible opportunity any baseball fan would love to participate in!"
"My son and I enjoyed the San Francisco trip - all went well and your staff was great - the experience is great and the tours are also great - if you have opportunity to thank Sean Marshall for taking the time to meet with us that would be great - looking forward to selecting a location next year - hoping for a possible Fenway Park destination : - thanks again - I should add that I was in San Francisco for work and had some special requests as a result and your staff was very helpful and flexible in the planning process."
"We had a great time and can't really think of anything that would have made it better except if the Cubs had won. It was a really great experience and we would be interested in doing this again, maybe in Boston or Chicago. Thanks for all your hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"When my wife bought me a Cubs Destination package for my birthday, I couldn't believe it. Spending the weekend in July with a Cubs-Cardinals series was a dream come true. When I did some research on what we get with the package, I couldn't wait to get there. When we checked into our hotel, our package was ready for us including Cubs yearbooks, MLB balls and the Cubs jerseys we ordered. The accommodations were perfect and so close to the "L" to get to the ballpark everyday. We had great seats to watch my beloved Cubbies take two of three from the Cards! I learned a ton on the tour and it was magical being face to face with the ivy. The question and answer session with Ryan Theriot will be most memorable to me. He was very polite and willing to answer our questions. When asked how come he hasn't hit home runs this year; he responded by saying that he wasn't really trying to. I find it ironic that he hit his first homer of the year and first in 700 at bats the very next day. I think Cubs Destinations should get the credit!! Can't wait till next year (gee, that sounds familiar from a Cubs fan)!"
"We just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time on the trip. It was our honeymoon and it couldn't have been a neater way for two Cubs fans to spend the week! We really had a great time and met some really nice people in the group! The tour and the lunch was great, and the autographs and pictures with Theriot were a treat.
"We had an excellent time and will recommend the trip to any Cubs fans that we come across. Good Luck with the rest of the trips this season, and thank you so much for such an enjoyable honeymoon!"
"I wanted an extra special gift for my nephew's college graduation, so I thought a trip to see the Cubs at Wrigley Field would be ideal since he is such a big baseball fan and history buff. I was fortunate enough to find the Cubs Destination package on the Cubs website and I cannot begin to describe how glad I am that I did. Jared and his father attended games the weekend of July 10th and have done nothing but rave about the service, special perks, etc. They said this was the only way to go. They will have a lifetime of treasured memories from their trip. As if that weren't enough, we received the photo CD in the mail today and the pictures are priceless. I would whole heartedly recommend Cubs Destinations to anyone wanting that extra special sports vacation experience. It was the perfect gift. I had a few questions prior to the trip, and when I called the representatives on the phone were always professional, helpful and courteous. The package was well put together and had all the needed information right at our fingertips. A million thanks!"
"My cousin and I are both life-long Cub fans. We have talked about doing a Cubs trip together for years, but life and logistics always seemed to conflict with this dream. Our trip to Chicago encompassed everything we ever talked about doing at Wrigley and then some. The reality of the Cubs Destinations program exceeded all of our expectations. The organization's professionalism and complete delivery of the promised product should serve as the gold standard for your industry. Thanks again for a job terrifically done!"
"My sons and I had a wonderful experience at the recent Cubs Destination trip. The accommodations at the Westin were excellent and a perfect location for this event. The tour of Wrigley and especially the chance to meet Ryan Theriot was the most memorable experience for each of us. I look forward to another trip in the near future and appreciate the opportunity you have created for "Cubbie" fans!"
"My son and I attended the Cubs Destinations trip to Chicago and enjoyed it very much. Thank you again for all that you did and please pass along a special thanks to Ryan Theriot for taking some time during a long baseball weekend - it says a lot about the type of person he is. I hope you are doing this program again next year at Wrigley as I plan to do it again and invite my brothers and father to join my son and me."
"I have always wanted to attend a game at Chavez Ravine, and the weekend series with the Dodgers (aside from the final scores!) was everything I hoped for. The seats for both games I attended were very good -- close to the field with great sightlines. The Saturday morning breakfast and time with Ryan Theriot and the tour of Dodger Stadium were exceptional. I would recommend the Cubs Destination program if it consisted only of these events, because that's how much I enjoyed them! The tour was extra special because we were able to take it on a game day, and the Dodgers' staff member who provided the tour was personable, interesting and fun because he enjoyed sparring with a group of Cubs fans on Dodger turf. The trip exceeded my expectations for the weekend. Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to another tour in the future!"
"I saw an article in the Chicago Tribune that briefly mentioned Cubs Destinations and their inaugural trip to Los Angeles. I had a few questions and contacted Bryan Connor at Fenway Sports Group. He was very helpful in answering all my questions. After adding up the total costs with the package deal and the necessary airfare to get to LA, I decided it sounded like a chance in a lifetime. The next day I called him back to actually book the trip. He assisted me with the whole deal. After 2½ months of anticipation for the actual trip, I can now say it was indeed the chance of a lifetime. The whole event was very well coordinated and all of the people that we spent three days with were all very friendly. The behind the scenes tour of Dodger Stadium was really cool. (Despite the fact that it was the Dodgers and not the Cubs.) The hotel was very nice and all their employees were very friendly as well, and our bus driver was a real character. Everything about the trip was great except for the fact that the Cubs lost the first 2 of 3 games. Meeting Ryan Theriot was also a great opportunity that I will always remember. (Ironically his jersey was the one that I had chosen 2½ months prior to even knowing which Cub player would be there Saturday morning.) I will definitely be saving up my money to hopefully do this again next year. Thank you Cubs Destinations for a great vacation weekend!"
"While surfing the Cubs' website in August, the words "Cubs Destinations" jumped out at me. I couldn't believe it. On my "Bucket List" is visiting other Major League Baseball parks, preferably while watching my favorite team.. It's true, win or lose, I'm a die-hard Cubs fan. But I digress. By the time I called, the trip to St Louis was sold out. The good news was that there was a waiting list. I wasn't optimistic, but something in Bryan's tone told me that maybe, just maybe, I'd be traveling to St Louis the weekend of September 18, 19, and 20. When I got the call, I was ecstatic. Despite a precarious forecast, and two Cubs losses, the trip was more wonderful than I could have imagined. I especially enjoyed staying at the Hyatt, across from the Arch. The entire area was welcoming, and the folks in St Louis could not have been warmer. Yes, there was a little jabbing, but for every jab, there was someone who was kind and supportive. I can't wait to hear about future trips, and I look forward to seeing some of the new friends I met in St Louis. Thank you, thank you, Bryan and Ben, for a job well done!! (And thanks to Ed for the awesome tour of the Cards' new park!)"
