ImpACTA Kids Foundation Scholarship Award

On behalf of the Cleveland Indians Manager, Manny Acta and the ImpACTA Kids Foundation, two (2) $2,500 scholarship awards will be given to (2) qualifying Cleveland-area 2012 graduating high school seniors be used towards their college education.

The 2012 ImpACTA Kids Foundation Scholarship Award recipients are also scheduled to be honored during pregame ceremonies prior to the Indians versus Reds 7:05 p.m. game on Wednesday, June 20.

The ImpACTA Kids Foundation is focused on providing opportunities for kids to achieve their dreams, in both the United States and Dominican Republic, by emphasizing the importance of education, health and athletics. This will be the foundation's first activity in the Cleveland community.

To qualify for the scholarship award, a student must:

1. Graduate from a Cleveland area high school by June 2012;
2. Demonstrate a minimum of a 3.3 cumulative grade point average during their high school years;
3. Enroll and attend a 4-year university in the Fall 2012 term with a major in the field of science, technology or business;
4. Submit essay and application by June 11, 2012.

To apply, qualifying students from the Cleveland area are asked to:

1. Complete the ImpACTA Kids Foundation Scholarship Application;
2. Type (using 11 pt font) a 375-500 word essay discussing any one (1) of the following topics:
   • What kind of impact do you want to make on society? Why do you want to make that impact? How do you plan on making that impact?
   • Discuss who in your life has been your biggest influence and why? Discuss your short and long term goals.
   • Discuss any special personal or family circumstances affecting your need for financial assistance and/or a college education and explain how it has influenced your development.
   • Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development and plans for the future.
3. Submit application and essay to Cleveland Indians Community Relations Department.
