CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cleveland Indians are proud to announce being named the 2011 NorthCoast 99 Winner as one of the best workplaces in Northeast Ohio. The Cleveland Indians organization is a two-time NorthCoast 99 winner becoming the first professional sports franchise to earn this prestigious award in 2009.

NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program that honors 99 great workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio. The program was developed and is presented by the Employer's Resource Council (ERC). ERC is Northeast Ohio's leading and largest professional organization dedicated to HR practices, programs and services. Since 1999, hundreds of organizations have been nominated and applied for the award, and the program has recognized over 300 organizations for their ability to maintain great workplaces that support the attraction, retention and motivation of Top Performers.

"We are honored to receive this meaningful recognition," said MARK SHAPIRO, Indians President. "The Cleveland Indians are proud of fostering a values-driven culture where people aspire to work and desire to remain. We are pleased to have a diverse workforce who directly contributes to the overall vision of: Creating Memories, Connecting Generations, and Celebrating Families."
