CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox have announced their player development staff for the 2011 season, with all six minor-league affiliates featuring new managers.

Joe McEwing, who spent the last two seasons as manager at Class A Winston-Salem, will take over at Class AAA Charlotte, while Bobby Magallenes (Class AA Birmingham) and Julio Vinas (Class A Winston-Salem) will begin their first season in the White Sox organization.

Tommy Thompson takes over as manager at Class A Kannapolis, and Ryan Newman moves to Advanced Rookie Great Falls after spending two seasons at Advanced Rookie Bristol. Pete Rose Jr., the son of major-league baseball's all-time hits leader, replaces Newman at Bristol.

Former White Sox All-Stars Richard Dotson (Charlotte) and Bobby Thigpen (Winston-Salem) return to their same positions as pitching coaches in 2011.

Devon White, who won seven Gold Glove Awards and recorded 208 home runs and 346 stolen bases over a 17-year major-league career, joins the White Sox as the organization's baserunning instructor.

Buddy Bell, who spent 18 seasons in the major leagues as a player and nine as a manager, returns for his third full season as the Sox director of player development.
