Seo looks for rerun against Padres
05/03/2006 9:18 AM ET
The Dodgers were an inning away from sweeping the San Diego Padres last Sunday, but the bullpen blew a five-run lead, and things haven't been the same since.

The Dodgers dropped both games in Arizona and return home after a 3-5 trip with a three-game losing streak and only one-half game between them and the last-place Padres, who open a two-game set at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday night.

Jae Seo will attempt to duplicate Friday's victory, when he combined with three relievers on a 3-0 shutout over San Diego. In that game, Seo overcame four walks in the first three innings and retired the last 10 batters he faced.

The Dodgers are likely to field a batting order similar to the revamped one that scored eight runs on Tuesday night.

Pitching matchup
LAD: Jae Seo (1-2, 5.70 ERA)
Seo was acquired to be an upgrade as a fifth starter from last year's group, and he finally showed why with six scoreless innings against the Padres in his last start.

SD: RHP Chris Young (2-2, 3.41 ERA)
Young took the loss against the Dodgers in his last start, despite allowing only one run in 6 2/3 innings, striking out seven. It was his only career start against the Dodgers.

Player to watch
Eric Young is 3-for-6 with a home run against Seo.
