Will a final-day run deny #paulstar and Victorino wire-to-wire victories in the 2011 All-Star Game Final Vote sponsored by Sprint?07/06/2011 4:41 PM ET
NEW YORK, July 6, 2011 - With time winding down, the challengers vying for each League's final All-Star roster spot are looking to their fans for every online vote in the final 24 hours of the 2011 All-Star Game Final Vote Sponsored by Sprint (#FinalVote). Will this support be enough to rally them past current leaders Paul Konerko of the Chicago White Sox and Shane Victorino of the Philadelphia Phillies and prevent a pair of wire-to-wire victories? With millions of votes still to come before Thursday's 4 p.m. (EDT) deadline, no margin may be safe.
During the voting, campaign endorsements have come via Twitter from some of the players' most famous fans, including Senator John McCain endorsing a Kennedy, pitcher Ian Kennedy of the Midsummer Classic host D-backs; Shaquille O'Neal boosting support for Victorino; John Wall backing fellow DC star Mike Morse; and American Idol winner David Cook and actress Alyssa Milano rallying for Alex Gordon and Andre Ethier, respectively.
