Pirates to Cover Service Fees on All Ticket Orders During Week-Long Offer07/31/2009 2:21 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today, in partnership with MLB.com, they will pay all service fees charged to fans for tickets purchased both over the phone and online at www.pirates.com during the week of Friday, July 31, beginning at 2 p.m., through Friday, August 7. Fans will be able to purchase tickets to any of the remaining Pirates home games in the 2009 season during this week-long offer, and the Pirates will cover the associated ticketing fees including all "print at home" and "mobile ticketing" orders.
The covering of these fees is another way the club continues to provide additional value to Pirates fans.
"All season long we have been providing more value-based options for our fans given the state of the economy. Covering the ticketing fees for Pirates ticket buyers for a limited time is another way to bring as much value as possible to our fans during the 2009 season," said Pirates President Frank Coonelly. "By paying for these fees for our fans who purchase tickets during this week-long program, we will give more fans the opportunity to watch Pirates baseball during the remainder of our season."
The covered fees will apply to any ticket purchased during this one week period; regardless of the date of the game of the purchased ticket. For example, a fan who purchases four tickets online or over the phone on Saturday, August 1 for the Saturday, September 5th game against the St. Louis Cardinals and chooses the print at home option will not be charged any service fees for placing that order.
To order tickets, please visit www.pirates.com, call 1-800-BUY-BUCS or stop by the PNC Park Box Office.
