Rangers Ballpark in Arlington Updated Traffic and Parking Information for Wednesday's Rangers-Twins Game08/18/2009 8:56 PM ET
Texas Rangers Press Release
Simultaneous events will take place again in the Arlington Entertainment District TOMORROW, Wednesday, August 19. The Paul McCartney concert, with an estimated 40,000 in attendance, starts at 7:30 pm and the Rangers game with the Minnesota Twins is a 7:05 pm start. The Rangers, Cowboys, and the City of Arlington have coordinated the flow of traffic to make travel as seamless as possible for fans and guests.
While there are not major changes to the roadways, fans and concert goers should allow additional travel time to Rangers Ballpark/Cowboys Stadium due to increased traffic in the Entertainment District. There are an estimated 40,000 guests attending the Paul McCartney concert.
For fans traveling from southwest of Rangers Ballpark/Cowboys Stadium, a few lanes will be blocked on Randol Mill Road between Collins and Legends Way, but through traffic will be allowed. West bound Collins and Center Street bridge exits are closed at this time. All West bound traffic has to exit Six Flags Drive, Ballpark, Legends or Cooper for the venues.
Alternate routes to get to Rangers Ballpark/Cowboys Stadium with less filled corridors include using I-20 and traveling North on Cooper and Collins.
Post game/concert, managed lanes on I-30 in Dallas County will be open for in-bound and out-bound traffic. As an alternate route, the Highway 161 connection from 183 to Division is now complete and available for use. The concert is expected to end around 11:30 p.m.
