Baseball and the Yankees suffered a significant loss on Thursday night when Mariano Rivera learned that he had suffered what is almost certainly a season-ending knee injury.
Rivera told reporters in Spring Training that he had made a decision on whether he would pitch in 2013, and it was widely assumed -- though never confirmed by Rivera himself - that he had decided to retire. We wonder, though -- does his injury change anything?
Have we seen the last of Rivera on a Major League mound, heard “Enter Sandman” for the last time? Or will Rivera pitch again, be it in the 2012 postseason somehow, or in 2013?
