Cirque du Soleil flips out for first pitch at Petco Park
During a ceremonial first pitch, the baseball is typically the only item to get airborne.
But Wednesday's Padres game was a different story.
Fans at Petco got a special treat, as the cast of Cirque du Soleil's "Totem" sang the National Anthem and performed the ceremonial first pitch. The man throwing the pitch had just about as much air time as the ball, as he backflipped out to the mound.
