Owner of maybe the greatest name's baseball has ever seen, Heathcliff Slocumb turns 46 years old today. Born in Jamaica, NY and signed as an amateur free agent by the Mets in 1984, Slocumb played for eight teams over 10 MLB seasons. You might recall that the Red Sox traded him to the Mariners for Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek in 1997. The trade has become known as one of the most one-sided deals in baseball history.
