Executive chef Will Todd and director of landscape maintenance Luke Yoder are giving a whole new meaning to "home cooking" at Petco Park.
When Todd broached the idea of incorporating some homegrown veggies into the ballpark's special VIP menu back in March, Yoder took on the challenge wholehearedly. The grounds crew has since planted 16 different types of peppers and several varieties of tomatoes in a plot of fertile ground near the Padres bullpen.
With harvest season about a month away, Todd's will soon have to choose between serving Strikeout Salsa and Bullpen BLT's. Stay tuned ...
