US Marine Corps Sgt. Christopher Farias, Sunday's veteran of the game at Dodger Stadium, received a special surprise shortly after tossing out the first pitch. Christopher's father, Lawrence, caught the pitch wearing a catcher's mask before revealing his identity to his son. Christopher and Lawrence hadn't shared a Father's Day together in eight years.
While serving in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Cpl. Farias received the Navy Cross -- the Department of the Navy's highest honor -- for showing “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving as assistant squad leader.”
