Right-hander Tyler Thornburg wasn't the only player to make his Brewers debut Tuesday night.
Jack Kalman, a Milwaukee season-ticket holder since 1975, won the "Welcome to the Big Leagues" prize and earned a one-day contract at the Major League minimum salary, a highlight film in uniform and an opportunity to toss out the first pitch on Wednesday.
The prize was part of Milwaukee's "Fan-Tastic Forty" promotion, which awards 40 season-ticket holders a variety of unique items.
"When you're standing out on that field and you put yourself in the position of those Major League ballplayers -- man, those guys are good," said Kalman, who chose to wear No. 32 in memory of former Brewers manager Harvey Kuenn.
