Rays reliever Joel Peralta was ejected on Tuesday night for having pine tar on his glove.
Rays manager Joe Maddon claimed that it’s not an uncommon practice, and that Washington singled out Peralta. Peralta claimed he was wearing a batting practice glove. And of course from the Nationals’ perspective, none of that matters - cheating is cheating.
So we want to know, what’s your take? Was Peralta just doing something that tons of pitchers do, and it’s no big deal?
Was it a clear case of cheating where justice was served? Or somewhere in between?
