Anyone know a good travel agent?
Rays manager Joe Maddon was running on just two hours of sleep Thursday afternoon when his team gathered for pre-second half workout at Tropicana Field.
After spending the All-Star break in California, the Tampa Bay skipper arrived at the airport on Wednesday and was surprised to discover he didn't have a flight home.
"I made the reservation for the wrong day," Maddon said. "I got to the airport last night, thinking I had a reservation for the flight that got in at six in the morning, but I didn't. That was for next Thursday."
Maddon regrouped in time to deliver a half-hour pep talk to players in attendance for the optional session. Might be worth tweeting him a reminder about Friday's series opener against the Red Sox, though.
