Major League Baseball and the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has played an integral role in modern-day baseball with many notable players, coaches and managers prominent in today's game. Their growing influence has been the impetus for the creation of this site, which can be found in both English and Spanish.

The overall goal of is to provide the visitors with a place to learn about Major League Baseball in the Dominican Republic, its illustrious history and to showcase the efforts of MLB to improve Dominican baseball and the overall Dominican community.

Visitors will be able to find information on MLB-related operations in the Dominican Republic such as information on baseball development of MLB's prospect league, the Dominican Summer League and the Dominican Winter League; an essay about MLB in the Dominican Republic, as written by MLB's Official Historian John Thorn; information on community service projects spearheaded by MLB's DR office, the Major League Baseball Dominican Development Alliance, and the community work of MLB Clubs; and additional major events taking place in the Dominican Republic.

The site will also feature all of Major League Baseball's Dominican players, including their game logs, video and editorial material related to MLB in the Dominican Republic.
