MLBFC Looking Ahead
More than two dozen MLB stars and celebrities – including Kate Upton, David Wright, David Price, George Brett and Brandon Phillips – are scheduled to visit the MLB Fan Cave this month, building off a very successful opening month of the season for baseball’s social media hub in downtown Manhattan. In addition, the MLBFanCave.com Concert Series will continue with three more performances by popular recording artists. The May lineup includes:
• The Avett Brothers (“I and Love and You,” “Kick Drum Heart” & “Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise”) – May 8, 6:00 p.m.
• Adam Lambert (“Never Close Our Eyes,” “Whataya Want From Me” & “Trespassing”) – May 14, 6:30 p.m.
• Josh Baze (“She’s Gold,” “We Made It” & “Where I Am” ft. Sarah Jaffe) – May 15, 7:30 p.m.
The MLBFanCave.com Concert Series began last month with performances by Daughtry, The Fray, Far East Movement and Aaron Lewis, and continues a long tradition of music at the Fan Cave’s location, which is the former home of the iconic Tower Records on 4th Street & Broadway in New York City’s Greenwich Village area. This month’s performances and others throughout the year will be free and open to fans, with highlights appearing on MLBFanCave.com. More information on how fans can attend these and other concerts will be available on MLBFanCave.com and through Twitter and Facebook.
Already this season, the MLB Fan Cave has played host to more than 40 current and former MLB players, celebs, musicians and other entertainers, including Miguel Cabrera, Joe Mauer, Justin Verlander, Jim Rice, Bernie Williams, Kevin Millar, Jon “Bones” Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Darius Rucker and many others. Highlights among the web series produced by P3 ENTERTAINMENTon MLBFanCave.com so far include:
• Miguel Cabrera stars as “Miggy Poco” in a telenovela spoof with teammate Collin Balester.
• Justin Verlander surprises a special young fan, and shows up unannounced at a local high school baseball game.
• Sergio Romo and Pablo Sandoval give customized handshakes to dozens of Giants fans in a nearby park
• Logan Morrison gives a unique tour of Manhattan on a double-decker tour bus.
All nine “Cave Dwellers” – Ashley Chavez, Benjamin Christensen, Lindsay Guentzel, Shaun Kippins, Gordon Mack, Ricardo Marquez, Ricky Mast, Eddie Mata and Kyle Thompson – remain in the Fan Cave as of this week, watching every single MLB game each day while chronicling their experiences via social media (bios and fan vote here) . Throughout the season, Cave Dwellers will be eliminated until a winner is crowned by the end of the 2012 World Series.
