Suraj Sharma to Star in Million Dollar Arm

This is pretty awesome. It’s been announced that Suraj Sharma is going to play Rinku Singh in the upcoming film “Million Dollar Arm.” The movie is about two guys, Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, who entered an Indian reality TV contest to see who could accurately throw a baseball the hardest. That’s a real thing that happened. Singh ended up winning the whole thing, throwing 87MPH and signing with the Pirates. He’s throwing low 90s now, which is incredible.

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m really excited to see Sharma in this. He was stellar in Life of Pi. When he auditioned for it, he did it kind of accidentally. He was just there with his brother and ended up starring in a movie that was nominated for 11 Academy Awards. Yawn. Ho hum. Just another day in the life of Suraj Sharma. Now he has to learn to throw a baseball for this movie. Would anybody be surprised if he cranked it up to upper 80s? I wouldn’t be. What if he does? And gets offered a contract? They’d need to make a movie about Suraj Sharma, starring Suraj Sharma.
