This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of The Sandlot and the Minnesota Twins are paying homage in the best way possible. After the Red Sox vs. Twins game on May 19, Target Field will be screening the film on their scoreboard. As a special treat, David Mickey Evans (director/writer/narrator) also will be in attendance.
Watching a baseball movie inside a baseball stadium goes hand-in-hand. It's like eating candy inside the Wonka factory or reading a book inside a library. Some events are more exciting than others, but the two go together and make perfect harmony. And for The Sandlot, I couldn't think of a better way to relive the memorable film than at the ballpark.
If you are unable to make it to the game, there's always a TV and a couch. The film will also broadcast on FOX Sports North following the game.
