Video: Anthony Gose Steals Home

Wednesday, May 8, 2013 9:11 AM

It was a pretty interesting game for the Toronto Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons, on Tuesday night. Bisons center fielder Anthony Gose led off the bottom of the first inning by reaching safely on catcher's interference. He quickly moved to third on a Jim Negrych single and a Moises Sierra double play. In hindsight, he didn’t know that the batter at the plate, Luis Jimenez, was going to strike out, but sure enough, Gose took off for home in the middle of the at-bat. And made it safely.

In fact, not only did he steal home, he made it look easy! The throw from Norfolk’s pitcher, Jake Arrieta, wasn’t even there by the time Gose touched home plate. No one even saw Gose coming! In addition, Gose’s run in the seventh inning sealed the win for the Bisons, as they defeated Norfolk by a score of 6-4.
