Rangers Host Sandlot Sleepover

Sunday, May 12, 2013 6:51 PM

With the celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Sandlot, several teams are paying tribute to the classic film in different ways.

While the Texas Rangers were taking care of business against the Astros in Houston this weekend, the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington hosted a unique fan sleepover event. The event started at 6:00pm on Saturday night as fans watched the Rangers-Astros game on a large display screen.

After the game, fans camped out in the outfield grass with their sleeping bags and pillows while watching The Sandlot. Patrick Renna, the actor who played Ham, also made a special appearance!

The fans then fell asleep under the sweet Texas stars and left the ballpark Sunday morning.

This has to be one of the coolest events of the year. I’ve never been camping before, but if it’s anything like this – sign me up! Comments
