Padres Reveal Favorite Baseball Movies

Ever wonder if baseball players like watching baseball movies? Well, the video above explores the question, as members of the San Diego Padres discuss their favorite baseball flicks. The answer is a resounding YES.

Interestingly, the majority of the Padres players named The Sandlot as their favorite movie. Jedd Gyorko indicated that he enjoyed it because of how easily a player can relate to it. “It’s kinda how I grew up, you know? Just rollin’ a ball out there and playing it anywhere you can. When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was play baseball, and that’s all they wanted to do too.”

Many others also selected Bull Durham. Andrew Cashner, for instance, relates how much it still rings true for prospective ball players trying to make their way to the Bigs. Another popular response was Field of Dreams, a personal favorite for reliever Huston Street.

Other movies that were named included For the Love of the Game, Major League, the Rookie, The Natural and Bang the Drum Slowly. Which baseball movie is your favorite? Comment below.
