The much-anticipated rematch of the 2011 World Series this past weekend initially brought many questions about the Texas Rangers. Would they be able to handle the excruciating memories at Busch Stadium? Are they forever haunted by Game 6? (Cue the World Series footage for the millionth time).
Despite all the hype around these rematch games, that didn't stop Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre on continuing their on-field antics. In the bottom of the ninth with one out during the second game of the series, Yadier Molina popped up an easy out to short. Naturally, Adrian Beltre decided this would be the perfect time to mess with Elvis Andrus (and America) by posing as if he was ready to catch the ball. Thankfully, Andrus was not fazed and still made the out.
I was definitely fooled by the prank as I kept yelling at the screen, "WHO'S GOT IT?" before laughing about it with my fellow Cave Dwellers. But if there were any indications from this video, I'd say the Rangers are doing just fine.
And for your viewing pleasure, here are two hilarious Andrus-Beltre GIFs from earlier this season:
