Chase the Bat Dog Retires

Sunday, July 7, 2013 10:42 AM

Today, the game loses an all-time great - Chase the Trenton Thunder bat dog is retiring. He’s had an unbelievably long and successful career, making his debut in 2002. Unfortunately, he has to retire due to arthritis and lymphoma. Breaks my heart. During his career, he was an international star. On his final day, they gave away Chase bobbleheads and encouraged fans to bring their dogs to the field to bid farewell. He will be passing the torch to Derby, a five-year old golden retriever. No doubt Derby will do a fine job. Enjoy retirement Chase. We wish you nothing but the best!
