Over the weekend, we shared a report that retired NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady is pursuing a pitching career. McGrady confirmed his intentions tonight on Twitter:
In response to the tweet, the Sugar Land Skeeters released the following statement:
“Tracy McGrady is one of the most elite athletes of this era and we appreciate his interest in pursuing a life-long dream with the Sugar Land Skeeters and the Atlantic League. While the Atlantic League is considered the highest level of baseball outside of Major League Baseball, McGrady has demonstrated skill, determination and diligence during his training program at Constellation Field. We look forward to monitoring his progress.”
And according to the Houston Chronicle, McGrady is working out with former Cy Young winner Roger Clemens. While some reports say that T-Mac is throwing in the low-90s, Clemens stressed that he has a long way to go.
We're rooting for McGrady and excited to monitor this story.
