One Friday a month, the Astros welcome several military families with a loved one serving away from home to a special Astros experience that includes a batting practice visit and tickets to the game. Each participant's ticket is loaded with $15 that can be spent at most concession and retail stands at Minute Maid Park.

May 4: Pink in the Park Brunch and Bazaar
On Friday May 4, the Houston Astros will host the Pink in the Park Brunch and Bazaar. Held at Minute Maid Park in the Union Station Lobby, the brunch will raise funds for breast cancer research at the Methodist Cancer Center.

May 4-5: Astros In Action Foundation In-game Silent Auction
Each Friday and Saturday home game, fans have the chance to bid on exclusive, autographed team memorabilia at the Astros Community Clubhouse, the central location for many in-park community activities. Bidding begins when gates open and ends at the bottom of the fifth inning. All proceeds benefit the Astros In Action Foundation.

May 5: Umps Care
Several kids in foster care will be special guests of the umpires as part of Umps Care Charities. The kids will be given tickets to the game, enjoy a pregame meet and greet with the men in blue and be treated to a special goodie bag. Umps Care Charities is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established by Major League Baseball umpires to provide financial, in-kind and emotional support for America's youth and families in need.

May 6: Home Sweet Home - Military Meet and Greet
This season, the Houston Astros have partnered with USO Houston for the Astros Home Sweet Home Program presented by Budweiser. Each Sunday home game, the team welcomes a small group of active, recently returned military personnel and their guests to a special Astros experience highlighted by a player meet and greet. They watch the game from a suite and are introduced to the crowd prior to the seventh inning singing of "God Bless America."

The Astros Whataburger Fielder's Choice program invites area schools to participate in an area-wide contest by submitting essays written by students addressing the importance of making the right choices. On May 7, select Astros players, front office personnel, team mascot Junction Jack and representatives from Whataburger will visit the four winning schools across the Houston area to personally encourage students to make good choices during the Fielder's Choice school assembly.

May 19: Methodist Blood Drive
The first of three community blood drives hosted by the Astros and ARAMARK and run by The Eileen Murphree McMillin Blood Center at The Methodist Hospital is Saturday, May 19 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Depot located on the second floor of Union Station. The blood drive is open to everyone 17 and older, weighing at least 110 pounds, and in generally good health. All who donate or attempt to donate receive a special Astros T-shirt. Donors need not possess a game ticket to donate blood; however, they must have a game ticket if they plan to attend the 6:15 p.m. game against the Texas Rangers.

May 19: Sunshine Kids Meet and Greet
The Astros are welcoming a group of 60 people from the Sunshine Kids to Minute Maid Park for a pregame meet and greet with Astros players and coaches on May 19. The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer and their families. Established in 1982, the Sunshine Kids is committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients.

May 20: Home Sweet Home - Military Meet and Greet
This season, the Houston Astros have partnered with USO Houston for the Astros Home Sweet Home Program presented by Budweiser. Each Sunday home game, the team welcomes a small group of active, recently returned military personnel and their guests to a special Astros experience highlighted by a player meet and greet. They watch the game from a suite and are introduced to the crowd prior to the seventh inning singing of "God Bless America."

May 20: Astros Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive
The Astros will host an equipment collection drive benefiting the Houston Parks and Recreation Department's free youth baseball and softball programs on Sunday, May 20. Bring new or gently used equipment to Minute Maid Park. The first 200 fans donating equipment will receive a player card signed by J.D. Martinez, the Astros BTF nominee. All donated equipment will directly benefit HPARD youth baseball and softball programs.

The Astros Play GreenĀ® in Education initiative teaches students at an early age about the environment and to assist them in building a lifetime of responsible actions that make a positive difference. On May 22, one lucky classroom will have a player visit their school as part of the Astros Greenest Classroom online contest.

May 26: Astros Race for the Pennant 5K & 10K Run Walk and Junction Jack Kids' Fun Run
On Saturday, May 26, the Astros In Action Foundation is hosting the 10th Annual Race for the Pennant presented by the Methodist Center for Sports Medicine and endorsed by the Houston Marathon Committee. In addition to the traditional 5K Run and Kid's Fun Run race, this year's race offers a 10K Run in celebration of the event's 10th anniversary. Participants receive an official race T-shirt, two free tickets to a select 2012 Astros home game and an invitation to the post-race party inside Minute Maid Park. On June 2, the Astros will treat 40 wounded military veterans to a ballpark outing that includes a player meet and greet as part of the 8th Impact A Hero week. Impact A Hero is a non-partisan 501(c) (3) organization, created to provide a simple mechanism for individuals and corporations to help provide emotional and financial support for severely wounded/disabled War on Terror veterans and their families.

Pitch, Hit and Run is an exciting baseball skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages 7 - 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running talents. Winners advance through four levels of competition with the chance to compete in the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game. The 2012 area finals will be held June 3 at Minute Maid Park.

June 3: Astros Wives Father's Day Auction
The Astros Wives will assemble Father's Day player packages filled with baseball and non-baseball items that have particular meaning to their husbands. Fans will be able to bid on these unique packs at the Astros Wives Father's Day Auction on Sunday, June 3. The items will be on display in Conoco Alley at Minute Maid Park. Bidding begins when gates open and ends at the bottom of the sixth inning. Auction proceeds benefit the Methodist Men's Health Center.

June 4: Tommy Bahama Island Cowboy Golf Classic
The Houston Astros and Tommy Bahama have teamed up for the 7th Annual Island Cowboy Classic golf tournament. Astros players and staff will enjoy golf on the beautiful tournament course at the Woodlands Country Club. One Friday a month, the Astros welcome several military families with a loved one serving away from home to a special Astros experience that includes a batting practice visit and tickets to the game. Each participant's ticket is loaded with $15 that can be spent at most concession and retail stands at Minute Maid Park.

August 11: Methodist Blood Drive
The third of three community blood drives hosted by the Astros and ARAMARK and run by The Eileen Murphree McMillin Blood Center at The Methodist Hospital is Saturday, August 11 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Depot located on the second floor of Union Station. The blood drive is open to everyone 17 and older, weighing at least 110 pounds, and in generally good health. All who donate or attempt to donate receive a special Astros T-shirt. Donors need not possess a game ticket to donate blood; however, they must have a game ticket if they plan to attend the 6:05 p.m. game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

August 11: Sunshine Kids Meet and Greet
The Astros are welcoming a group of 60 people from the Sunshine Kids to Minute Maid Park for a pre-game meet and greet with Astros players and coaches on August 11. The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer and their families. Established in 1982, the Sunshine Kids is committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients.

August 12: UMPS CARE
The Astros are working with UMPS CARE, as several kids in foster care will be special guests of the umpires as part of UMPS CARE Charities. UMPS CARE Charities is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established by Major League Baseball umpires to provide financial, in-kind and emotional support for America's youth.

August 16: Astros Wives Gala
The Astros Wives are hosting the 23rd Annual Black Ties and Baseball Caps Gala on Thursday, August 16 at Minute Maid Park. Each year, supporters mix and mingle with Astros players at this signature event emceed by Astros Hall of Fame broadcaster Milo Hamilton. The gala benefits the Houston Area Women's Center and begins with an elegant cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a dinner and live auction. Individual gala tickets begin at $500.
