Senior Vice President, Broadcasting and Alumni Relations
A 40-plus-year veteran of Houston radio, Jamie was named Senior Vice President of Broadcasting and Alumni Relations in January 2014. In this role, Jamie provides leadership on the Houston Astros affiliate relations efforts, with emphasis on outreach and expansion of the network's scope, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key broadcast partners and overseeing radio and television broadcasts including all ancillary programming. Jamie will also develop and direct all Astros alumni programs and initiatives to cultivate greater historical ties with the organization, as well as remain the primary Astros contact for several key corporate partner accounts.
Jamie was previously named to the post of SVP of Premium Sponsorships in May of 2007, where he was responsible for the management of the Astros premium accounts. He also served as Vice President of Sales and Broadcasting in 1999 and was the Astros Director of Broadcasting starting in July of 1987.
Jamie's radio career in Houston has spanned roles from sales to management, including sales manager of KTRH Radio from 1984-87 before joining the Astros. He was also the general manager of KTRM/KALO in Beaumont, Texas, and was sales manager of 104 KRBE in Houston from 1972-78. Jamie received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston with a major in radio and television.
In 2014, Jamie was awarded the Fred Hartman Award, given annually by the BBWAA to a member of the Houston baseball community for their long and meritorious service.
Jamie and his wife, Theresa, reside in Houston, and have two sons, Jeff and Shane, and five grandchildren: Hayward, John, Alexandra, Audrey and James.
