Charlie Norton Director of Baseball Research and Analysis |
Charlie Norton begins his seventh season in the Astros organization and his first as the club's director of research and analysis. In his current role, Charlie is responsible for He recently spent three seasons as the club's Assistant Director of Baseball Operations (2005-07).
Charlie is heavily involved with the club's scouting, player development, and the operations in Greeneville. He previously spent two years as the General Manager of the Martinsville Astros (2001-2003), the Astros Rookie League affiliate prior to Greeneville. He came to the Houston organization after spending 1999-2001 working for the San Diego Padres Class AA affiliate in Mobile, Alabama. While working in Mobile, he served as the Director of Season Ticket Sales and Regional Sales Representative for the New Orleans Saints. A native of Chicago, IL, Charlie received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Illinois. He also completed the Major League Baseball Scout Development Program in 2003. Charlie and his wife, Wendey, make their home in The Woodlands, TX, with their two daughters Charlee and Kaylee. |
