Friday, April 1 - Greater Kansas City Day

On the Friday before the home opener, the Royals team up with more than 1,300 volunteers to sell a special Royals edition of the Kansas City Star throughout the city. Proceeds from the sales help send kids to Rotary Youth Camp and other deserving children's charities.

Sunday, April 3 - Relay the Way

More than 2,500 supporters took part in the "World's Longest First Pitch." Spanning more than nine miles, the ceremonial first pitch ball for Opening Night made its way from Union Station all the way to Kauffman Stadium. The fundraiser raised $130,000, which will benefit the Urban Youth Academy.

Saturday, April 9 - 3&2's Baseball Opening Day

3&2 Baseball in partnership with the Royals, Academy Sports, KSHB-TV and Majestic celebrated the league's opening day of spring/summer youth baseball. 7U and 8U teams outfitted in Royals uniform jerseys started their 2016 season of machine pitch baseball in style. Royals catcher Drew Butera met ballplayers and threw out a ceremonial first pitches prior to the four games.

Monday, April 18 - Royals Charities Celebrity Golf Tournament

Royals Charities hosts its annual golf tournament at Shadow Glen Golf Club giving fans the opportunity to play golf with current and former Royals while raising money for Royals Charities and Special Olympics of Metro KC.

Monday, April 18 - Yost at Kansas City Sports Commission Dinner

The Kansas City Sports Commission and Foundation honored individuals for their commitment and achievements in local sports at their annual awards banquet. Manager Ned Yost was honored as the Burns & McDonnell Coach of the Year.

Tuesday, April 19 - 2016 MLB-Royals All-Star Scholars Announcement

The 2016 Royals Scholars were announced during the 20/20 Leadership's Shining Star Awards Celebration at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. Each student receives up to a $10,000 scholarship at any two- or four-year college or university in Missouri or Kansas. These five students were selected from the 20/20 Leadership program, which serves to educate and expose students to community issues, develop personal and leadership skills and build community-wide relationships. Proceeds from the 2012 All-Star Game in Kansas City fund the program.

Thursday, April 21 - "C" You at The K

Royals General Manager Dayton Moore, together with the C You in the Major Leagues Foundation (CYITML) and the Royals, host area groups to join him at select games this season. The special guests watch batting practice, enjoy dinner with Moore and watch the Royals game. The CYITML Foundation was founded in January 2014 to support youth baseball, education, faith-based organizations and events, and families in crisis throughout the greater Kansas City area and beyond.

Friday, April 22 - Earth Day Green Team

During select games throughout the season, local organizations and volunteers who sign-up to be a part of the Royals Green Team, sponsored by Republic Services, help collect aluminum and recyclable plastics at the stadium gates as well as throughout multiple innings of the game.

Saturday, April 23 - Hosmer & Duffy at Noah's Crown Town 5K

Gold Glove first baseman Eric Hosmer and pitcher Danny Duffy appeared at the first Noah's Crown Town 5K. Hosmer welcomed runners to the race and Duffy assisted with the awards ceremony. Additional information can be found at www.noahscrowntown5k.com.

Saturday, April 23 - Alex Gordon Classic

The second-annual Alex Gordon Classic to benefited the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation took place April 22-24. The left fielder made appearance to speak to the 120 teams from across the Midwest who participated in the tournament and meet the top teams who raised the most money for the foundation leading up to the tournament. That night, the top two fundraising teams watched Royals batting practice and were on-field before the game with Papa John's, to present a check to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation from the proceeds from the 2015 Alex Gordon Special.

Major League Baseball and the Royals partner with Autism Speaks to help raise awareness and create a special day featuring a fun, safe and family-friendly environment for fans who are a part of the Autism Speaks family.

Monday, May 2 - Go 2 Bat 4 Others Shoe Event

Royals infielder Christian Colon and his wife, Kayla, together with the Bishop Sullivan Center helped Longfellow Elementary students try on and walk away with a new pair of shoes. Funding for the new shoes is provided by Royals Charities.

Thursday, May 5 - Kansas RBI Ribbon Cutting

The Royals joined Kansas Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (Kansas RBI) to cut the ribbon at Barton-Ross Complex field located at 5325 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan. A clinic led by Hall of Famer Cal Ripken and Royals alumni followed the ceremony. The field was built as a result of funding from Royals Charities, remaining 2012 MLB All-Star Lasting Legacy Funds, The Cal Ripken, Sr., Foundation, and several other community partners. Later that evening, General Manager Dayton Moore and Broadcaster Ryan Lefebvre joined supporters at the Kansas RBI Benefit Banquet.

Friday, May 13 - Play Ball Clinic

Royals Hall of Famer Dennis Leonard and former Royals outfielder Les Norman lead pre-selected kids during a clinic as a part of the MLB Play Ball weekend at the Johnson County 3&2 complex. All kids who participate receive a Royals Play Ball branded plastic bat and ball set.

Friday, May 13 - Moose Lodge

Third baseman Mike Moustakas, together with the Royals and KCP&L, host foster care children and their families in the Moose Lodge.  Each child from Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association receive complimentary tickets, a "Moose Lodge" t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John's Pizza.  The special guests also participate in a meet-and-greet with Moustakas before the game.

Saturday, May 14 - Play Ball Weekend Events

As a part of MLB's Play Ball weekend, before the game, Royals players and coaches will join select children for a special kids-only press conference. Prior to the game, preselected young ballplayers participate in various elements including a recognition, a special "Cap Exchange" and will take part in the player introductions. In addition to the events, Royals players wear special Play Ball branded shirts during batting practice and special jersey patches during the game that night.

Sunday, May 15 -Salute to the Negro Leagues Jersey Auction

Fans can bid on one-of-a-kind game used Salute to the Negro Leagues jerseys and helmets from Royals players. All proceeds benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. The Braves and Royals pay tribute to Kansas City's rich baseball tradition with this annual salute.

Tuesday, May 31 - Roberto Clemente Day

Major League Baseball and Chevy honor the Royals nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award. The award is given annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community service and positive contributions to his team. Fan voting and a special selection committee will determine the national winner, announced at the 2016 World Series.

The Royals team up with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) to host a free PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) clinic at Kauffman Stadium. Head Athletic Trainer Nick Kenney will join members of the Royals sports medicine staff to lead 125 pre-selected youth from the Kansas City, Kan. and Kansas City, Mo. Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities programs, Police Athletic League, and others in exercises to promote health and wellness.

Prior to the on-field event, Royals Charities will host an exclusive VIP Party.

Join the Royals for the annual Viva Los Reales celebration. The pregame party begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Outfield Experience. Fans can enjoy live music and dancing. Local restaurants will all participate in the annual Salsa Showdown. In honor of the day, the Royals will also wear special "Los Reales" jerseys during the game.

The league provides boys and girls ages 8-18 the opportunity to play organized baseball and softball, while placing emphasis on life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and interacting with others. The Royals play an active role in fundraising, securing facilities, and recruiting players and coaches for RBI. In addition, the Royals host all RBI players to a special night at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals partner with Alphapointe to host a Touch Tour of the stadium for children with visual impairments. Children participate in a tour of the Hall of Fame, beep ball at the Little K and a Royals game. As a part of the tour the children get their baseball related questions answered by Royals announcers, along with an experience to touch various baseball equipment. The experience provides a unique up and close perspective for young Royals fans to enjoy the games through different senses.
