    Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wish of a Dream Factory child. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, meet Royals players, witness batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.

Royals Charities Mission Statement

The Kansas City Royals and Royals Charities are committed to being active members of the Kansas City community and region. Created in 2001, Royals Charities strives to support children, education, youth baseball/softball, and military in and around the Kansas City area. The foundation accomplishes this mission through financial donations, as well as in-kind support, including memorabilia, tickets and publicity. Under the leadership of the Glass family, Royals Charities has donated more than $9 million dollars in grants since its inception.

The 4 Pillars of Royals Charities:

Royals Charities helped provide support in 2013 to children-based charities in the greater Kansas City area including: Special Olympics KC Metro, Variety Children's Charity of Greater Kansas City, The University of Kansas Hospital's Neonatal Medical Home, and Dream Factory.

More than $750,000 has been donated to renovate 64 fields in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Oklahoma and Arkansas since 2006 (with an average matching grant size of $5,000) through the Royalty Fields Program. For more information, please visit royals.com/royaltyfields.

The MLB-Royals All-Star Scholars Program is providing scholarships to five students a year through the 20/20 Leadership organization with the opportunity for a $2,500 scholarship per year to any college in Kansas or Missouri.

Royals Charities has donated more than $130,000 to help military families at Fort Leavenworth, Fort Riley, the VA Hospital, Whiteman Air Force Base and Wounded Warriors.
