Royals Radio Network

The Royals Radio Network (RRN), the largest network in the American League, will broadcast all of the Kansas City Royals regular season games in 2008. The network will also broadcast a 20 game Spring Training schedule. All games will be heard on the Kansas City affiliates, 610 Sports for Monday-Saturday games and News Radio 980 KMBZ for Sunday games.

The Royals Radio Network is made up of over 80 affiliates throughout the Midwest in 8 states. 2007 Ford C. Frick Award winner Denny Matthews and 11-time Kansas Sportscaster of the Year Bob Davis will be behind the microphone. Matthews will return for his 40th season and Davis will make a full-time move to the radio booth after 11 seasons as the television voice of Royals baseball. The duo will be joined in 2008 by veteran play-by-play announcer Steve Stewart, who will host the pre- and postgame shows on RRN, as well as call the action on selected games throughout the year. Ryan Lefebvre, will also provide play-by-play call on the radio when he not announcing on television.
