DODGERS COMMUNITY CARAVAN TO HOST CHILDREN,
VISIT HOSPITALS AND SCHOOLS, AND MEET FANS
"Eight Day Week" ties for longest Caravan in club history

Stars include Russell Martin, James Loney, Andre Ethier, Blake DeWitt, Hiroki Kuroda, Mark Loretta, Delwyn Young, James McDonald, and a host of Dodgers Legends

The annual Dodgers Community Caravan starts this Saturday, January 31, and runs through Saturday, February 7. A host of Dodgers stars and legends will meet fans at Dodger Stadium, neighborhood schools, area hospitals, local ballfields, L.A. LIVE, and other public venues. They will even appear on the television show, "The Price is Right."

For the second straight year, the events span a club-record eight days. The Dodgers will visit Duarte, Temple City, El Monte and various locations in Los Angeles. The Caravan concludes with the departure of the Dodgers' equipment truck for Camelback Ranch-Glendale, Saturday, February 7.

January 31: Salute to Jackie Robinson
The Dodgers commemorate the eve of "Black History Month" with the second annual birthday tribute to Jackie Robinson, who would have turned 90 this year. Several hundred Los Angeles school children will visit Dodger Stadium to hear stories first-hand from Don Newcombe, Tommy Davis, and "Sweet Lou" Johnson about Jackie Robinson's impact on society.

February 1: Party for Neighborhood Children
On Sunday, the Dodgers will hold a party at Dodger Stadium for families who live in the neighborhood. The private event, which is open to the media, celebrates the end of the football season and beginning of baseball season.

February 2: Groundhog Day-See Your Shadow
On Monday, children from area middle schools will "shadow" various front office staff to experience the various behind-the-scenes careers in baseball.

February 3: Community Visits
On Tuesday, the Caravan will visit City of Hope Hospital in Duarte in the morning and conduct a Play Ball LA Baseball Clinic in the afternoon. At 5 p.m., the Dodgers will meet the public at L.A. LIVE.

Stars expected to attend include Andre Ethier, Blake DeWitt, Hiroki Kuroda, Tommy Lasorda, Fernando Valenzuela, Tommy Davis, Rudy Law, Steve Garvey and Charley Steiner.

At the public event at L.A. LIVE from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the Dodgers will form two lines for autographs of one or more players. Each line can accommodate 150 fans. L.A. LIVE will offer a special parking rate ($8) in the West garage, located at 11th Street between Georgia and Cherry.

In addition to the many new restaurants, L.A. LIVE features Lucky Strike, which will be the site of the Dodgers Dream Foundation Bowling Extravaganza hosted by James Loney on July 23. Come bowl today, February 3rd and your bowling shoes will be free. Tell them you are here for the Dodger Caravan to receive your free bowling shoes. Lane charges still apply.

February 4: Community Visits
On Wednesday, the Caravan will visit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles in the morning, serve lunch at Canter's Deli, then at 3 p.m., tape an episode of "The Price is Right," the longest-running television game show, now in its 37th season.

Dodger fans can come to Canter's Delicatessen and Restaurant at 419 North Fairfax Avenue from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. and be served their meal by the Dodgers.

City of Hope and Children's Hospital LA are the Dodgers' partners in ThinkCure!, the innovative program that is accelerating collaborative research to cure cancer.

Wednesday's expected stars include James Loney, Russell Martin, Delwyn Young, James McDonald, Mark Loretta, Bobby Castillo, Kenny Landreaux, Ron Cey and "Sweet Lou" Johnson.

February 5: RBI's 20th Anniversary
On Thursday, the Dodgers will attend and support the RBI Dinner, celebrating RBI's 20th Anniversary. Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities is a Major League Baseball program with roots in Los Angeles. Among current Dodgers, James Loney and James McDonald are alumni of RBI. They are expected to attend, along with Honorees Maury Wills and Derrel Thomas.

February 6: Front Office Staff Community Service at Midnight Mission
On Friday, members of the Dodgers front office will volunteer at Midnight Mission on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. Midnight Mission offers a bridge to self-sufficiency for homeless people through counseling, education, training, and job placement. Midnight Mission also provides food, shelter, clothing, personal hygiene needs, and medical care.

February 7: Truck Departure to Camelback Ranch-Glendale
On Saturday, February 7, the Dodgers' equipment truck will depart Dodger Stadium for Camelback Ranch-Glendale, home of the club's new campus in the desert. The club will welcome fans to see equipment and the truck up close, then give it a send-off on its historic inaugural journey.

To help the players meet as many fans as possible, the club will ask the players to sign one item per person.
