SELIG SCHOLARS PROGRAM

2012 BREWERS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC.

ALLAN H. SELIG SCHOLARS PROGRAM & PLAYER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Brewers Community Foundation, Inc.'s Allan H. Selig Scholars Program was created in the name of former Brewers' President and current Commissioner of Baseball Allan H. (Bud) Selig. Funding for the scholarships is the result of proceeds donated by Major League Baseball, from the All-Star Workout Day, part of the 2002 All-Star festivities held at Miller Park. Commissioner Selig has deep ties to Milwaukee and Wisconsin and he has also had a long-term commitment to educational excellence. A graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin, Commissioner Selig believes the opportunity to pursue a college education should be made available to all young people; particularly those who show great promise but are unable to afford it. So far, over sixty students have been awarded scholarships under the program.

2010 Selig Scholars

The Selig Scholars & Players Scholarship Class of 2010 at an on-field recognition ceremony at Miller Park.

In 2012, several students, who must be graduating seniors from the Class of 2012 in Wisconsin high schools, will be selected for the Selig Scholars scholarships. The scholarships must be directed to a college or university based in the State of Wisconsin. Selected candidates will receive $2,500, annually, renewable each year for a total of $10,000 over four years.

Additionally, in 2012 we will offer a small number of one-year scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to students - undergraduate or graduate - thanks to Milwaukee Brewers players and coaches. Preference for these scholarships will be given to students who plan to attend or are currently attending colleges and universities in Wisconsin.

To be considered for one of the above scholarships, please submit the following items no later than April 18, 2012.
