Open to boys/girls ages 6-14
The Milwaukee Brewers are proud to announce the inaugural season of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball/Softball Academy presented by Kwik Trip. Any boy or girl who has ever picked up a bat and ball and dreamed of getting to the big leagues will find our week-long camps leave them feeling like they could be the next Ryan Braun or Yovani Gallardo.
Wisconsinites love their baseball and softball. From tee-ball to travel teams, Wisconsin is truly one of the nation's hotbeds for these sports. As a professional baseball organization, the Milwaukee Brewers have much to share with the tens of thousands of players, parents and coaches who love baseball and softball as much as we do.
Our promise is to create a world class Milwaukee Brewers baseball experience that will only build on your child's love of the game. Read on and see why the summer of 2013 could include not only just a great baseball experience, but one of the best summer activities your child will ever enjoy.
The Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Academy caters to kids at every level of play. Whether a beginner or a budding pro, each player gets a world-class experience on and off the diamond.
The magic of a great camp comes from the right mixture of fun, competition, learning and camaraderie. On Monday when you meet the camp staff, you will see how our knowledge of and passion for the game are evident in how we approach each activity. We know the game but also understand that the program needs to be a blend of competition and fun. Your child WILL be a better player on Friday than he or she was on Monday through a mixed balance of competition, fun, relationship building and baseball instruction.
At each Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Academy session we use a progressive system of hitting, throwing and fielding. Depending on how well the groups achieve the various steps in our teaching program, we advance the curriculum to match their progress. In addition, we spend time on position-specific skills like pitching, catching, middle infield play, fast pitch pitching and slap hitting.
Drills are tailored to the experience level of the various age groups to create the best learning environment for everyone.
While children at camp are separated by age, not all players of the same age have equal ability. For safety reasons and because it facilitates the best learning environment, players are grouped by age and ability. These "teams" stay together throughout the week with the same coach. There is crossover with instructors but we have found the bonds created between teammates and their primary coach is one of the truly special dynamics at camp.
At our instructors' discretion, tennis balls, whiffle balls and safety balls are used liberally at camp. At times we do use regulation baseballs and softballs, however fear-free confidence is a critical foundation for fun and learning on the diamond.
Have questions about the camps? Send them to campinfo@brewers.com or call 414-939-8808.
We understand travel ballplayers' schedules are hectic in the summer. The exceptional experience your player will have at this camp makes it worth the effort to fit it into your schedule. We protect your child's arm if they are scheduled to pitch that night, or if they have a tournament coming up we can adjust their workload accordingly. Give us a week and your child will improve, no matter their current level of play.
"Hi, I'm John Shelby, coach for the Brewers and I am proud to work for an organization that cares so much about teaching baseball and softball to kids. These new Brewers Camps are going to be something special. I, or one of my fellow coaches, will spend some time instructing at each one. I can't wait. See you in the summer."
As parents, you know when you find a great teacher you look for ways to maximize your child's interaction with that person. They can be game changers in our kids' lives. It's much the same with great youth sports coaches.
That's why we carefully select, screen, and train our instructors, and we believe this careful preparation pays great dividends. The bottom line is that our instructors are as good as they come, and your child will see that from the very start.
Much of what happens in the baseball/softball swing happens too fast to be tracked by the human eye. To ignore the value of video in the teaching process is a mistake we do not make with our own Brewers players, or our campers. Every camper's swing is recorded, analyzed and shared with the player and his/her parents. This is a terrific way to extend the learning experience from camp to home, then to the diamond.
The fee for the weeklong camp is $395.00. For that fee your child will receive 30 hours of exceptional instruction, Brewers game tickets, a V.I.P. day at Miller Park, the opportunity to meet a Brewers player, get instruction from a Brewers coach, a full Brewers uniform and the unforgettable friendships and memories created.
The investment is $395. You can sign up right now by clicking here:
Camps are open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14.
If two or more children sign up together, each will receive a $25 discount. In order to receive this Family/Friends Discount the registrations must be submitted together.
Register prior to March 31, 2013 and receive a $25 discount. This discount may not be combined with any other discount.
You may cancel 45 days prior to the first day of camp and receive a full refund. Cancellations between 45 days and 14 days prior to the first day of camp will be subject to a $75 processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the first day of your camp.

Campers should bring their own lunch and drinks. Please be sure to affix your player's name to these items.
In the event of inclement weather, outdoor camp activities are moved indoors. Our curriculum has provisions for excellent indoor activities and instruction. We reserve the right to cancel camp days for weather-related reasons and no refunds will be given. Every effort will be made to complete instruction.
Once you have registered we will communicate additional important camp information via e-mail. Please enter your e-mail address accurately on the registration form. Also, be sure you are entering the parent or guardian e-mail address, NOT the camper's.
We will assist you in making car pool arrangements. If interested, check the "Car Pool" box on the registration form. Prior to camp, parents who check the "Car Pool" box will be connected with others who are interested in this convenience.
Please note: Specific Brewers players and coaches to appear will be selected by the Brewers and may not be represented in these photos.
During one of the five camp days, campers are transported by bus to Miller Park for a day we are sure they will never forget. Imagine sitting in the dugout just hours before Ryan Braun or Corey Hart walks out of the tunnel. How about toeing the bullpen rubber shortly before Yovani Gallardo takes the mound? The highlight of the day includes campers having their picture taken in the dugout with a current Brewers player. Buses depart Miller Park at approximately 2:00pm and return participants to their camp location.
Kids love to compete so we give them an opportunity to display their skills while using the very techniques we teach at camp. Every camper participates in a baseball or softball skills competition. Each week, scores are posted on the website and after the last camp, the top scorers are invited to the Champions' Day Finals at Miller Park. Boys and girls compete separately in appropriate grade groups.
If they are going to train like a Major Leaguer, campers should dress like one.
