BTF Supports Improved Coaches Training
With the belief that knowledgeable, motivated and supportive coaches are the driving force of quality and enjoyable youth baseball and softball programs, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund Board of Directors announced today its strong desire to support improved coaches training. BTF encourages organizations to carefully evaluate existing coaching and consider ways to improve training and increase participation by staff, parents and volunteers.

While BTF will continue to place a strong emphasis on grant requests that demonstrate incremental programming and facilities to increase the number of children served, the fund will give special consideration to those applicants that have made improved coaches training a priority and will continue to accept requests for coaches training expenses.

Think Detroit PAL/WSU Partnership a Success

In 2007, Think Detroit PAL, located in Detroit, Michigan, applied for a Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant to build new dugouts. Unlike many other grant requests, these dugouts weren't going to be built at a public park or high school. Faced with limited field space and even more limited public funding, Think Detroit formed a unique partnership.

New Grant Awards

Each year, over 500 youth organizations from around the world apply for a Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant. Of those applicants, only a select few make it through the grant review process. BTF would like to thank all those who applied and congratulate our January-March 2009 recipients.

Nominate Your All-Star

The Baseball Tomorrow Fund understands that youth baseball and softball programs are driven by dedicated individuals. That's why we've decided to recognize the best coaches, volunteers and players. Beginning in 2009, BTF will name one special individual as the Baseball Tomorrow Fund All-Star of the Year. The winner will be selected each July - just in time for the All-Star Game!

The deadline for 2009 entries is May 15.
