Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When does group registration end?
A: Group registration ends on Wednesday, July 10 at 11:59pm ET.

Q: I missed group registration. Can I still register as an individual for the MLB All-Star 5K?
A: Yes, you can register as an individual online at nyrr.org for the MLB All-Star 5K and Fun Run through Thursday, July 11 at 11:45pm. Limited registrations will take place on race day at Prospect Park.

Q: My family, friends and/or coworkers are starting a group. How can I join?
A: Look for your desired group by visiting the group registration page on MLB.com. Once you sign up on MLB.com, your group leader will review your request and you'll receive an email letting you know if your request has been approved.

Q: I received confirmation that I am part of a group for the All-Star 5K. Does this mean I am registered for the race?
A: No, you are not registered for the race until you have completed the registration process via nyrr.org. If your group leader is paying your entire group's fees, New York Road Runners will email you a code you can use to register at no cost to you. If your group leader chose the self-pay option, you'll need a valid payment card to complete your registration on NYRR.org. Limited registrations will take place on race day at Prospect Park. Please note: all race day registrations must be paid for at the time of registration whether or not you are a member of a group.

Q: Do I need to use the email address associated with my nyrr.org account when I create or join a group on MLB.com?
A: Yes, MLB.com and New York Road Runners will cross-reference registrations by email address. For your race registration to be associated with your group registration, you need to use the same email address for both steps of the registration process.

Q: How do I start a fundraising team?
A: To start fundraising and/or to make a donation to Sandy Relief Efforts, visit our fundraising page. Click here for more details. Challenge your race group to become a top fundraising team, too!

Q: I'm a group leader. What's the difference between "Single Payment" and "Multiple Payments" as a group leader?
A: A group leader has the option to set up their group as a "Single Payment" or "Multiple Payments". For "Single Payment" a group leader can choose to pay the race registration fee for all members of their group via the group leader payment card. For "Multiple Payments" individuals in your group are responsible for their own race registration fee. Race registration fees are $35 Adult and $30 Children, and all registration sales are final. Please note: participants must be at least 13 to join or create a group on MLB.com, and children under 18 must be registered for the 5K on nyrr.org by their parent or legal guardian.

Q: I'm a group leader. How do I login to manage my group on MLB.com? A: A link to login to your group admin tool will be included the confirmation email you will receive from MLB.com when you create your group. Please do not delete this email as you will need this link to login and manage your group. If you accidentally delete your confirmation email or need assistance logging on, please email AllStarGame5K@website.mlb.com.

Q: I am a group leader and I am paying for members of my group. When will my payment card be charged?
A: If you are a group leader and opted for the single payment option (covering costs for members of your group) your payment will be charged the entire amount due for your group's registration fees on or about July 11th, 2013. Your card will be charged by MLB.com and the charge will appear as mlb*nyrr_allstar5k. All registration sales are final.

Q: My group leader paid the registration fees for our group but I haven't received my registration code from New York Road Runners so I can sign up for the race. What do I do?
A: If you don't receive your code, contact AllStarGame5K@nyrr.org for assistance.

Q: How do runners who have registered as a group receive their race packets?
Individuals will each have to pick up their own race packets during pick up on Thursday, July 11, and Friday, July 12, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Niketown. Niketown is located at 6 East 57th Street, between Fifth and Madison avenues.
