Focus Area
Fastball:Landers worked comfortably in the 87-91 mph range and touched 91 on occasion.
Fastball movement:A big lefty, he has good life on his fastball.
Curve:He flashed a decent breaking ball that looked more like a slurve.
Control:His command was inconsistent.
Poise:Having pitched in the Little League World Series, he's used to a bigger stage.
Physical Description:Landers is a big, physical lefty who has some room for growth into his body.
Medical Update:Healthy.
Strengths:Big body with glimpses of some pretty good stuff.
Weaknesses:He's rough around the edges, not helped by the fact that he pitches in the Northeast.
Summary:The kind of body and arm those who like to project can dream about, Landers is raw, but shows just enough to keep people interested. He can reach the low 90s with his fastball and shows hints of a pretty nasty slurve. Like with most of his game, his command is inconsistent. The projectability, the size and the left-handedness had scouts heading north to see him when the weather turned warm in Massachusetts and he had been moving up charts due to his performance this spring.
