Regular Season Home Run of the Year

Aug. 12 -- Two of baseball's best teams meet in what eventually turns out to be a playoff preview, and this time the A's get the best of the matchup. Jason Giambi rips a walk-off home run to give the A's a sweep of the World Champs and keep his club charging toward the Wild Card.

Sept. 21 -- On perhaps the most memorable and emotional night of the season, Mike Piazza gives the Shea faithful a desperately-needed highlight. Piazza mammoth home run into the night keeps the Mets' hopes alive and gives New York a boost in the first game played in the city since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.

Sept. 29 -- Brian Jordan's one-man show hits its high point. Jordan rips John Franco's offering for a walk-off grand slam to cap a seven-run Atlanta comeback against the Mets. Jordan's late-season heroics broke the hearts of Mets and Phillies fans repeatedly in the season's final month.

Oct. 5 -- You knew it would happen against the Dodgers. Los Angeles ace Chan Ho Park was no match for the force that was Barry Bonds, as Bonds breaks Mark McGwire's single-season home run mark at Pac Bell Park. Bonds' 71st of the season is followed later in the evening by No. 72.
