Postseason Play of the Year

Oct. 13 -- Derek Jeter helps the Yankees live to play another day. Jeter appears seemingly from nowhere, grabs the errant throw from the outfield and flips it home to get Jeremy Giambi at the plate.

Oct. 28 -- Matt Williams delivers a powerful blow to the three-time defending champion Yankees as he crushes a three-run shot to propel the D-Backs to victory in Game 2.

Oct. 31 -- It's Yankee magic and Halloween haunting all at once -- Tino Martinez hits a shocking two-run shot to right center off of Byung-Hyun Kim to tie Game 4 of the World Series at 3.

Nov. 1 -- Again? Are you kidding me? The very next night, Scott Brosius gives the Yankees life again with a two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth. Once again, the Yankees go on to win after trailing entering the bottom of the ninth.

Nov. 4 -- Luis Gonzalez gets the hit that all kids dream about. It's Game 7 of the World Series, bottom of the ninth and two outs -- and Gonzalez gets just enough of Mariano Rivera's pitch to single home the winning run as the Diamondbacks clinch the World Series.

Honorable Mention

Oct. 12 -- Craig Counsell hits a three-run homer in top of the seventh to put the Diamondbacks ahead of the Cardinals to stay in the NLDS.
Oct. 15 -- "How you doin'?" Derek Jeter joins the Yankee fans in the stands as he makes a tumbling catch during Game 5 of the ALDS against Oakland.
Oct. 21 -- Alfonso Soriano feels no pressure -- the rookie goes yard against the Mariners in the bottom of the ninth and the Yankees win 2-1.
Nov. 04 -- Tony Womack gets the hit in the bottom of the ninth that ties it up for Arizona in Game 7.
