Clayton Kershaw should be just as known for his selflessness as his baseball talents. Inspired by their visits with the children of Zambia, Kershaw and wife Ellen built an orphanage for vulnerable children living in desperate conditions in Lusaka, Zambia. The orphanage, Hope's Home, is named after an HIV-positive child who is being fed and cared for on the couple's dime. Last season, they established the Kershaw's Challenge program that donates $100 for each of Kershaw's strikeouts to Arise Africa, an organization that also helps to build orphanages. Kershaw's Challenge has also partnered with Dallas and Los Angeles charities, Mercy Street and Peacock Foundation.
