Fielder had a monster season, setting the club record for RBIs and walks (110), flirting with a .300 batting average down the stretch and winning the All-Star Home Run Derby. If there was any question whether he was a superstar-caliber player, he answered with authority. Look no further than his drastically improved production against left-handed pitchers (.292 AVG, .584 SLG), a strong indication that he's arrived among fantasy's top power threats. Anyone who wants to get their hands on the 25-year-old slugger will need to target him early, somewhere between the late first and early second round.
Fielder put two more taters on the board to cap an outstanding late-season run at 50. Although he fell short, the seven home runs he powered in his final 14 games left him just one shy of Albert Pujols for the ML lead. The homer parade also left him at 141 RBIs, good for a share of the ML lead with Ryan Howard. It's fully evident that at 25 years old, Fielder is closer to putting up the sort of numbers Ryan Howard does. In other words, expect 40-plus homers and 120-plus RBIs again next year.
Another day at the office for Prince, who continues to mash as he has all season long. Fielder has 19 homers and 47 RBIs over 211 at-bats across August and September, which has enabled him to run away with the NL's RBI title. His MLB-best ribbie tally stands at 138 after Wednesday's game.
Business as usual for the big fella, who has proven one of the most prolific run producers in fantasy yet again. While he's unlikely to match the career bests of 109 runs or 50 homers that he set back in 2006, Fielder's 96 runs scored are good for sixth in the NL, his .297 average and .409 on-base percentage are both career highs, and his RBI total is already the biggest tally of his career by far. While Brewers fans didn't get all they'd hoped for from the Crew this season, Fielder's fantasy owners have essentially nothing to complain about.
Fielder has hit safely in six of the last seven tilts, racking up two doubles, a triple and two dingers in the process. With just 10 RBIs through the first 21 games of September, the mashing first baseman has slowed down in the power department, but he still ranks second in the Majors with 128 ribbies.
Fielder, who ended a brief six-game power outage, reached the 40-homer plateau for the second time in four full seasons as a big leaguer. The young slugger has taken the next step in 2009, as his .299 average, .413 on-base percentage and 128 RBIs are all career highs.
After lashing out at opposing hurlers for a .363 average in June, Fielder has shown a great deal of consistency in keeping his average at or near the .300 mark over the last two-plus months. Of course, a .300 average is just the cherry on the top of what has been another season of big-time power production for the husky masher. Fielder's 39 homers and 32 doubles have helped him claim the second spot on the NL leader board in slugging percentage (.588) and OPS (.999), trailing only Albert Pujols in both categories.
Prince, who has sent three into orbit over the last seven contests since a brief seven-game power drought, has already established a new single-season career high with 126 RBIs and is one jack away from notching his second 40-homer campaign. On top of his stellar power numbers, the young basher has helped out with a rock-solid .301 average.
It's been a solid but relatively quiet month for Fielder, who's batting .293 with a pair of homers and six RBIs in 11 September games. The burly first baseman likely has another surge or two left in him before the end of the regular season, so sit tight and wait for more strong games to come.
Just another night on the job for the Prince of Milwaukee, who knocked in a run for the fifth time in the last six games to push his Major League-leading RBI total to 125. The young basher has enjoyed a prolific campaign, as he's one of three players in the bigs with an OPS of at least 1.000.
Prince, who was just 4-for-24 in the seven games since his last long ball, is in the midst of a prolific campaign. The young slugger is batting .298 with 84 runs and a tremendous 1.002 OPS. He also leads the Majors with 123 RBIs.
Fielder has been on an absolute rampage at the plate in August, stroking a long ball in each of his last three games with 11 big flies -– tied with Carlos Pena for most jacks in the current month. The hefty hacker's 118 RBIs pace the Majors and put him one behind the career-high that he set for himself in '07.
Prince is in the midst of another power surge, as he’s slugged six long balls in the last 11 games. He’s driven in 13 runs over that period to up his Major League leading total to 115, contributing to a gaudy 1.016 OPS.
This was Fielder's ninth homer in August, the second time he's drilled that many taters in a month in '09. He hasn't gone yard more than nine times in a month since bashing 11 big flies in Sept./Oct. 2007.
Not only is Fielder hitting for power, with four homers in his last six games, he's also practicing a little patience. The free passes couldn't have come at a better time, as Fielder struck out six times in his previous three games. He heads into Sunday sporting an impressive .417 on-base percentage.
