Phils try to make it 10 straight vs. Mets

The Phillies continued to pour it on the Mets on Tuesday, with their ninth straight win. Philadelphia hasn't lost to New York since June 30, 2007. They don't intend to start now. "Now they have to get the next two [to take the series], but we're not going to make it easy," shortstop Jimmy Rollins said. "We can't."

Kendrick started 2008 in the same manner that allowed him to survive 2007. He put runners on base, then made the right pitch at the right time to keep the damage to a minimum. This has become a Kendrick standard. His outings won't look beautiful, and he won't strike out many, but he won't lose him composure, either, and that counts for a lot. He beat the Mets last season, allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings.
